What is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine?

Doctor of Osteopathy vs Doctor of Medicine.

Both are trained with the same curriculum as in medical school and go to the same residency programs. The main difference is that DOs are taught osteopathic manipulative medicine in their training and so learn to use their hands nd medicine to treat illness. As a result, DOs are able to go into a Neuromusculoskeletal residency to hone this skill. Additionally, DOs tend to go into primary care fields such as family medicine or pediatrics, or provide care in rural areas Some choose to go on and get residency training in the specially NMM. Just as an internal medicine doctor can go on to be a cardiologist. There are very few NMM physicians

Doctor of Osteopathy Vs Chiropractor.

NMM or OMM is a style of medicine believes that structure and function are inseparable and that for optimal health from the nerves, blood vessels and organs to the musculoskeletal system the body must move to function properly. Every part of the body is addressed.  Chiropractors are not trained medical physicians and they  focus on the bones of the spine. If your problem lies outside of that or is part of a chronic disease that falls under the training of a traditional physician you may not get relief from this type of body worker
